Santa Barbara is nestled between the Pacific Ocean on the south and the Santa Ynez Mountains, and the Los Padres National Forest, to the north. About ten miles to the west, further "north" on the 101 freeway, is the  Santa Barbara Municipal Airport, the  City of Goleta, the  University of California Santa Barbara, and the adjacent community of Isla Vista. Highway 154 provides easy access to the Santa Ynez Valley, the Santa Barbara Wine Country, and many attractions in the valley.
